Virtual Learning

Intermediate Units (IUs) afford Pennsylvania students the ability to receive learning at home via virtual programs delivered in concert with local school districts. School districts can choose to partner with an IU to run their virtual program or develop their own virtual programs.

Students using an IU run or partner program receive the quality education fulfilling the PA Core Standards required by the PA Department of Education. By using an IU or school district led virtual program, students remain in their school district and receive a transcript and a diploma from their local public school district. By remaining a public school student, they are also afforded the ability to participate in public school offerings such as sports, clubs or other extra curriculum activities.

If you are a parent, we advise you to check with your local public school district to inquire about their virtual program.
