ACTIVITIES - Postponed to June 1-3, 2022

During the PAIU 2021 Annual Conference, there will be a number of activities for conference attendees to partake in following our conference theme of Kindness: The Key to Our Neighborhood, where we will celebrate the legacy of Fred Rogers.

Kindness Project

To help spread our theme of Kindness: The Key to Our Neighborhood, Westmoreland IU is looking to include the voice of students at the PAIU Annual Conference. To showcase our diverse population of students from every IU, we are asking for your involvement in this special project. Please consider participating by submitting a Video message of kindness, following the parameters on the flyer. The “Messages of Kindness” will play throughout the conference to inspire and share the meaning of kindness according to the students we serve. Learn more.

Tuesday Afternoon

Celebrating 50 Years of Intermediate Units - During our team building activity, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary by assembling a PAIU time capsule. We will also work with intermediate unit teams as they develop an action plan to create their own time capsule and determine their local 50th anniversary activities.

Tuesday Evening

Night at the Races

Following Tuesday night's dinner, in exchange for a donation to the Simple Interactions Program of the Fred Rogers Center, participants will receive funny money they can use to place wagers on virtual horse races. At the end of the evening, pretend winnings will be converted into raffle tickets to use in a raffle for theme gift basket prizes. (Non-players can also receive raffle tickets with a donation.)  View flyer.

Insider Tip: Skip the betting window lines and make your online donation. Simply show your email donation receipt at the betting window to receive your tickets at the event.
